Flashback to 2010. I was about to make my Industrial Engineering thesis. I’ve always had interest for digital products, since high school I learned C++, HTML, CSS, and Motion Graphics and at college I felt very passionate for programming courses.
Because of my interests and performance, I was invited by professors to join COPA (Optimization and Applied Probability Center) and to be part of the team that was going to build the first carpool web app in Latin America: Portal Viaje. It turned out to be my thesis and my first job in UX/UI and one of the main reasons to start studying Design.
Portal Viaje was my very first approach to usability engineering and it showed me a path where I can fulfill both my Engineer and Designer carreers.
Here’s the link to the paper I wrote when delivering the project.
